At first glance, such a situation seems harmless — well, only the car will suffer. However, in reality, everything is much more serious, and this is clearly demonstrated by a shocking video. Few people think that at the moment of an accident, the weight of unsecured items increases not by two or three times, but immediately by 30–50 times!
For the clarity of the experiment, ordinary things that people take with them to nature were placed in a test car: a cooler bag, sports equipment, folding chairs, and suitcases. A frontal collision at a speed of 50 km/h was simulated.
The recording clearly shows how small objects turn into real projectiles upon impact, crashing into the front seats. A passenger who comfortably placed his feet on the dashboard, due to inertia and the deployed airbag, painfully hits his face against his own knees.

Based on the test results, ADAC experts advise always securely fastening luggage with belts or special nets. It is not worth folding the rear seat back unnecessarily — it serves as an additional barrier between the cargo and the cabin.
Small items are better to put deeper, and things with sharp corners should be wrapped in cloth. More details about "what will happen if... you don't secure luggage in the car" — in our material.
