During the day, the direction of the main traffic flow usually changes: in the morning hours, most drivers move towards the city center, and in the evening — in the opposite direction. However, Naberezhne Shose stands out against this background — there, both in the first half of the day and in the evening, the main flow of cars follows north, towards Poshtova Square.

During peak intervals — in the morning from 08:00 to 10:00 and in the evening from 18:00 to 20:00 — the maximum traffic intensity is observed on such highways:
• the northern section of the Ring Road (Vatutina Avenue — Moskovsky Avenue — Olena Telihy Street),
• Peremohy Avenue,
• Friendship of Nations Boulevard,
• Naddniprianske and Naberezhne Shose on the section from the Darnytskyi Bridge to the Metro Bridge.

Morning flows directed to the center along key Kyiv routes are usually denser than evening flows moving from the center. In other words, in the morning more vehicles enter the central part of the city than leave it after the working day. In the evening, drivers do not rush to get into traffic jams — many prefer to stay for their business or rest before heading out.

Among Kyiv bridges across the Dnipro, the leader in capacity is the Moskovskyi Bridge: in the evening hour, almost the same number of cars cross it as across the Metro Bridge and Patona Bridge combined.
