Every year, Euro NCAP publishes a rating of the safest cars in different categories, naming models that have shown better results than their competitors. The award is given based on an assessment of the level of protection for adult passengers, child passengers, pedestrians, as well as an assessment of safety systems. Based on the weighted sum of scores in these categories, the winner of the Best in Class award is determined.
Under the Euro NCAP program, the new Qashqai, the price of which we published earlier, received 91% for the protection of adult passengers and children, which became one of the best results in the group of competing models. This outstanding result was made possible thanks to the improved and strengthened design of the new Qashqai platform called CMF-C, which provides for the use of ultra-high-strength steel in key areas to increase rigidity and ensures absorption and reduction of impact force before it reaches the safety cage inside the cabin. The model's equipment with a center airbag (for the first time in Nissan's model range for Europe) to prevent head-on collisions between the driver and front passenger in a side impact helped the Qashqai get the maximum 16 points in the side impact resistance test.

The assessment of child passenger protection was almost maximum – 23.8 points out of 24 possible, while according to the results of checking the child seat mounts, the car received the maximum 12 points.
The Qashqai received 70% in the results of tests for the protection of cyclists and pedestrians. The Nissan Qashqai is equipped with numerous active safety systems, including an intelligent emergency braking system that warns the driver and applies the brakes if the car poses a risk of collision with a car, pedestrian, or cyclist. This system is included in the standard equipment of the entire Qashqai range, not just in the higher trim levels.
The Euro NCAP committee recognizes that it is better in any case to prevent road accidents, and awards points for technologies that help drivers avoid collisions.
Here, the Qashqai also showed a very high result with a rating of 95% thanks to Nissan's intelligent mobility technologies.
