Skoda Kushaq was created specifically for the Indian market, and it is also produced there – at the Skoda Auto Volkswagen India plant. An interesting fact: the level of localization of the model is as high as 95%, even the engines for the car are not imported but produced locally in India.

Among the "Europeans", Skoda Kushaq (the name is translated from the ancient Indian literary language as "king", "ruler") is close to the crossover Kamiq (the latter, by the way, is sold in Ukraine). It has similar styling and dimensions. By the way, the car's dimensions are 4.22 x 1.76 x 1.61 m, wheelbase – 2.65 m, ground clearance – 188 mm.

But the platform of the Skoda Kushaq is different – MQB-A0-IN. This is a simplified and cheaper version of the global modular architecture MQB of the Volkswagen concern. Its use made it possible to make the car affordable: in terms of the local currency, the price of the Skoda Kushaq ranges from 13,700 to 22,000 dollars.

Residents of India can buy the Skoda Kushaq with two petrol turbo engines to choose from – a 1.0-liter three-cylinder with 115 hp and a 1.5-liter four-cylinder with 150 hp. The base gearbox for all units is a manual, in more expensive versions the 1.0 engine comes with a 6-speed automatic, and the 1.5-liter engine – with a 7-speed DSG robot. Drive – exclusively front.

The equipment of the new crossover may include a digital instrument cluster, multimedia with a large screen, a touch control panel for climate, wireless charging for a smartphone, etc.
