Toyota Land Cruiser 300 – dimensions and platform
The LC 300 is based on the new GA-F platform (a variant of the TNGA chassis), which offers better rigidity and a lower center of gravity. At the same time, a number of body elements were made of aluminum, which, combined with the new chassis, reduced the overall weight of the structure by 200 kg.
In terms of dimensions, the car is very close to the Land Cruiser 200: its length is 4,985 mm, and the wheelbase is 2,850 mm.
Toyota Land Cruiser 300 – interior
Compared to its predecessor, the new off-roader offers slightly more space for second and third row passengers; the interior can be 5-, 6-, 7-, or even 8-seater depending on the market. The interior design has become more modern, although the SUV has retained its old-school character. Thus, an advanced multimedia system with Apple Car Play and Android Auto support coexists with an analog instrument cluster rather than a digital one.
Toyota Land Cruiser 300 – engines
As expected, with the change of generations, the "Cruiser" lost the V8; now its engine lineup includes only turbocharged V6s. However, this did not affect performance: in particular, the 3.5-liter petrol unit produces an impressive 415 hp and 650 Nm of torque. There is also a 3.3-liter diesel that delivers 309 hp and 700 Nm.
As the manufacturer emphasized, the Land Cruiser engine lineup has become 10% more environmentally friendly overall.
Both engines work in conjunction with a 10-speed automatic transmission. Drive is all-wheel drive.
Toyota Land Cruiser 300 – equipment
The new "Cruiser" is well equipped. It features the Toyota Safety Sense active safety package, which includes emergency braking, lane departure warning, road sign recognition, adaptive cruise control, and automatic high beams. In addition, it has a pedestrian detection system, lane keeping assist, and a new electronically controlled kinetic suspension stabilization system (E-KDSS). By the way, the suspension itself has a very long travel, allowing the car to handle off-road better.
The SUV can also identify the owner by fingerprint.
Toyota Land Cruiser GR Sport
Finally, for the first time, a performance version of the "Cruiser" has been announced, prepared by the TRD division – the Land Cruiser GR Sport. Such a car looks somewhat different from the regular one: due to black fender protection, black mirrors, modified bumpers, new side steps, a changed grille, black alloy wheels, as well as seats with red contrast stitching and a GR logo on the headrests. In addition, the LC GR Sport has revised suspension and steering systems – they are tuned for sport.
When will the new Land Cruiser 300 be released
Sales of the regular "Cruiser" will start in the summer (July-August). The performance version will appear closer to the end of the year.
