The name of the new product is derived from two Spanish words: Sol («sun») and Terra («earth»). The electric crossover Subaru is being developed in partnership with Toyota and is based on the e-TNGA architecture. The closest «relative» of the Solterra is the electric crossover Toyota bZ4X.

In the published photos, it is clear that the Subaru Solterra largely repeats the silhouette of the Toyota bZ4X, but the front part is designed differently. The dimensions of the car are close to Subaru Forester, but thanks to the increased wheelbase, the interior promises to be more spacious.

It is expected that the lineup will include modifications with one and two electric motors, as well as variants with rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive. According to unofficial information, the most powerful version will be able to produce 300 hp, and the range will reach approximately 600 km.
