Bloomberg New Energy Finance agency came to this conclusion in its research.

It is noted that from 2026, sedans (fastbacks, four-door coupes) and crossovers (SUVs) will equal in price, and by 2027 this trend will reach "small cars" as well.

As an example, the cost of an average electric sedan is given: now such a car costs almost 40,000 euros (excluding subsidies and benefits), but in just 5 years its cost will drop to about 20,000 euros.

The main impetus for the fall in prices of electric vehicles should be a reduction in the cost of battery production – the most expensive component in the design of an electric vehicle. And this, in turn, will be influenced by lithium prices – the material that forms the basis of the battery cost.

According to the experts' forecast, by 2030 electric vehicles will account for 50% of new car sales worldwide, and by 2035 this share should grow to 85%, and in case of even stricter CO2 emission reductions – to as much as 100%.
