The first electric Hummer SUV debuted with prices and trim levels right away

In October 2020, General Motors introduced the electric pickup truck Hummer EV under the GMC brand, and now the closest sibling of this model has debuted – the electric SUV GMC Hummer EV SUV. Its production will begin in early 2023.

The new GMC Hummer EV SUV is, in fact, the second GMC electric vehicle after the Hummer EV pickup. From the latter, the new model inherited, in particular, the design (the SUV is completely identical to the pickup, except for the rear end styling), the platform (GM Ultium), the interior, and the equipment (it also has an infotainment system with a 13.4-inch screen, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, the Super Cruise semi-autonomous driving system, etc.).

The manufacturer immediately announced the trim levels and price for the new model. So, at the start of sales, customers will be able to order models from the launch edition EV SUV Edition 1 at a price of $105,595. This will happen at the beginning of the same 2023. The Edition 1 version is equipped with three electric motors with a power of 619 kW/842 hp and accelerates from 0 to 60 miles per hour (96 km/h) in about 3.5 seconds. The range on a single charge is 483+ km. For an additional $5,000, the Extreme Off-Road package will be available, which includes 18-inch wheels, 35-inch off-road tires, additional underbody protection, and the UltraVision camera system that shows an image under the vehicle. True, with such an addition, the range is slightly less – “only” 451+ km.

Then, in the spring of 2023, the EV 2X and EV 3X versions will go on sale. The 3X variant, like the Edition 1 version, also has an 842-horsepower setup and a range of 483+ km, but it has a more modest list of equipment. The price, accordingly, is also lower - $99,995.

The EV2X version has the same 483+ km, but it is not as powerful – in its case, there are not three, but two motors with a total power of 466 kW/634 hp. The cost of this option is $89,995.

Finally, in the spring of 2024, it will be possible to purchase the base EV2 version at a price of $79,995. In this case, there are two motors from the EV2X – with a power of 466 kW/634 hp, but the range is noticeably less – 402+ km (a range of 483+ km will be available for an additional fee).

All older versions – 2X, 3X, and Edition 1 – can boast all-wheel drive.
