The electric car Volkswagen ID.3 is also assembled there, and this is not surprising, because the two models are close relatives and are built on the common MEB platform.

The hatchbacks are similar in appearance, but the Cupra has a different front-end design, body kit, and original alloy wheels with copper-colored inserts. Details of the same color are also present in the interior of the electric car.

It is stated that the Cupra Born will initially get only the top battery from the VW ID.3 with a capacity of 82 kWh. The range will exceed 500 km.

But the electric motor specifically for the Cupra Born may be made more powerful. The characteristics are not yet known, but it is stated that acceleration to 50 km/h will be only 2.9 seconds. It is also reported that adaptive dampers and a system for changing chassis and engine settings will be standard.
For now, all SEAT electric vehicles have decided to produce under the sporty Cupra brand. Soon the Tarvascan crossover will join the hatchback. In addition, the Cupra Born and future electric cars are planned to be leased under a special subscription.
