Both models are part of General Motors' plan to launch 30 electric models worldwide by 2025. At the same time, they share a similar design and identical internals. By and large, these "Bolts" differ only in body styles (and, accordingly, belonging to different classes).

In particular, the Chevrolet Bolt EUV is slightly larger than the hatchback: it is 160 mm longer and offers a wheelbase of +74 mm (the length of the regular Chevrolet Bolt is 4166 mm, wheelbase – 2600 mm). Accordingly, the crossover has a bit more space in the cabin. Inside the pair of new models, an 8.0-inch instrument panel and a 10.2-inch color touchscreen for multimedia are installed.

Both models are equipped with a single electric motor producing 200 hp and 360 Nm, as well as a battery with a capacity of 65 kWh. The driving range on a single charge for the Bolt EUV crossover is 402 km, while for the Bolt hatchback it is 417 km. Both models have the ability to fast charge with direct current at 11 kW: thanks to this, in 30 minutes the hatchback "recharges" for 161 km of range, and the crossover – for 153 km.

As for the updated Bolt EV, the changes were limited to a slightly retouched exterior (abandoning the fake radiator grille in favor of a solid high-mounted panel, plus new optics both front and rear, modified bumpers) and a modernized interior (new steering wheel and redesigned dashboard). In a similar vein, by the way, the design of the crossover is also executed.

The base configuration of both cars includes: an emergency braking system, functions for frontal collision warning and pedestrian detection, as well as a lane keeping assist with lane departure warning. Optionally available will be adaptive cruise control, rear cross-traffic alert. For the crossover, wireless charging, a panoramic sunroof, front seats with heating/ventilation, and rear seats with heating are also provided.
Both models will be available on the US market from summer 2021. You can buy the Chevrolet Bolt EV for $31,995, and the Bolt EUV will cost $33,995.
