It is not hard to understand that the Mercedes EQA 2021 is an electric modification of the second-generation GLA crossover. It is easy to recognize by the redesigned front end, styled after the larger electric Mercedes EQC – here a panel is installed instead of the usual radiator grille, along with new LED headlights.

Inside, there are even fewer differences from the Mercedes GLA. The electric car is equipped with a pair of displays combining a virtual instrument cluster and a multimedia system. However, the screen graphics of the EQA are unique, and the satellite-supported navigation has been improved and now calculates routes taking charging points into account. A heat pump was added to the equipment list, ensuring the operation of climate control and the heater.

The first to hit the market was the base single-motor electric crossover Mercedes with one motor producing 190 horsepower. The battery capacity is 66.5 kWh, allowing a range of 480 kilometers on the NEDC cycle (and about 425 kilometers on the WLTP cycle) without recharging.

Later, a version with all-wheel drive and two motors is promised, with a combined output of 272 horsepower. This variant will get a larger battery, and its WLTP range will be 500 kilometers.

The new Mercedes EQA comes with an 11-kilowatt charger and also supports fast charging up to 100 kilowatts. In this mode, it is possible to replenish the energy reserve to 80 percent in just half an hour.
