The new 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine, which will become part of a hybrid system, is the British marque's first in-house development since 1968.

The unit, internally designated TM01, is named after Tadeusz "Tadek" Marek, a Polish engineer who created several legendary engines for Aston Martin in the 1950s and 1960s. As the company states, this V6 will operate as part of an electrified setup — both as a conventional hybrid and as a plug-in hybrid — with final output varying by model. However, in any configuration, such hybrids will become the most powerful in Aston Martin's current lineup.

In developing the new engine, engineers drew on expertise gained during work on the Valkyrie. All engine components are packaged as tightly as possible, featuring a "Hot-V" layout — turbochargers positioned in the cylinder bank valley — as well as the Nexcel oil system with a removable container. This design has made the unit compact and lightweight: its total weight does not exceed 200 kilograms. In terms of emissions, the engine meets Euro-7 standards, which are scheduled to come into force in 2025.

The first model to receive the new hybrid powertrain will be the Valhalla supercar, with its premiere expected in 2022. Among the car's features is a spoiler with FlexFoil technology, which NASA tested on a Gulfstream III business jet in 2014. This is an adaptive trailing edge that can change the shape of its profile using hydraulic actuators instead of tilting the entire plane.
