As Motori Online reports, Alfa Romeo will unveil its new model on June 24 of this year. Information about the car is still kept secret, but it is assumed that it will be a compact crossover built on the PSA platform. In the lineup of the Italian brand, the new model will take a place below the existing Stelvio and the not-yet-released Tonale. According to insiders, the car will most likely be close to the French Peugeot 2008, which is equipped with a 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol engine with 100, 130, or 155 horsepower.

In addition, the Peugeot has a 1.5-liter diesel with 100 or 130 horsepower, as well as a fully electric version — most likely, the Italian crossover will get a similar set of engines. Sales of the new compact Alfa Romeo crossover will start in 2022. As for the successors to the sports coupes 8C and GTV, their appearance is unlikely: the brand has decided to focus on more in-demand and profitable models, namely crossovers.
