According to the MoparInsiders.com portal, this summer Alfa Romeo will present the most radical version of the Giulia model. It is expected that together with it, the GTA index will be revived in the range of the Italian brand, last used on the conceptual MiTo GTA hatchback. That car with a 240-horsepower engine was planned for serial production, but the 2008 crisis forced the manufacturer to abandon these intentions. Among production models, the GTA badge was worn by the most powerful version of the Alfa Romeo 156.
Judging by unconfirmed data, the Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA will become significantly more powerful than the Quadrifoglio version: the 2.9-liter twin-turbo V6 will produce not 510 hp and 600 Nm of torque, but about 630 horsepower. The engine will be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. The weight reduction, which is fundamental for the GTA abbreviation (Gran Tourismo Allegerita), since the second part of the name means "lightened", will be 20 kg relative to the Giulia Quadrifoglio with a manual transmission.
The production of the Alfa Romeo Giulia GTA will be limited to a certain number. According to the same rumors, the sedan's premiere will be timed to June 24 in Milan, when the company will celebrate its 110th anniversary.
