According to Automotive News, in the coming years Lexus intends not only to modernize its current SUV models, but also to create from scratch a new mid-size crossover designed for three rows of seats and accommodating from seven to eight passengers. When exactly the new product will go on sale is not yet specified. The Japanese brand needs an additional crossover to compete worthily with Mercedes-Benz, BMW and Audi, which already have a line of SUVs of various classes and sizes.
In addition to the new model, Lexus plans to refresh its already produced crossovers and SUVs in the near future: for example, the current LX debuted back in 2007, and the GX in 2009. The NX and RX are noticeably newer and have already received updates, while the UX appeared on the market only in 2018. In November of last year, the brand introduced the UX 300e — this is the first electric crossover in its history.
