The design of the "festive" GranTurismo was developed by employees of the Maserati style center, and its name — Zéda — is borrowed from the Modenese dialect, where this word denotes the letter Z. The coupe body is painted with a gradient symbolizing the transformation of the industry: if the matte gray color at the rear hints at the dawn of the automotive industry, the middle with a "metallurgical" effect speaks of the emergence of new technologies, then the bright blue — about entering a new era of electrification.
The place of the Maserati GranTurismo and GranCabrio on the assembly line at the plant in Modena will be taken by a new model. Now the company is updating the production line and preparing for the market debut of the new product, which is scheduled for next year. According to preliminary information, we are talking about the production version of the Alfieri concept: the coupe will receive an aluminum modular platform, electric and hybrid power plants, as well as a semi-autonomous control system.
The current Maserati GranTurismo has been produced with minimal changes since 2007.
