The updated Audi A5 can be distinguished from its predecessor by a slightly different radiator grille with a modified pattern, different side skirts, a rear diffuser, and exhaust tips of a changed shape. All cars in the base trim have LED headlights, and matrix or laser optics are available for an additional charge.

Inside, a 10.1-inch touchscreen of the improved MMI infotainment system on the MIB3 platform with a more powerful processor has appeared. As before, the driver has a fully digital instrument cluster with a 12.3-inch diagonal.

At launch, the Audi A5 family will be available with four engines operating on a "mild hybrid" scheme, together with a 12- or 48-volt on-board network. The top S version of the model received a three-liter six-cylinder turbodiesel developing 347 hp and 700 Nm of torque. Coupe and Sportback variants with such an engine accelerate from standstill to the first "hundred" in less than five seconds. The maximum speed is electronically limited to 250 km/h.

In addition, the previous three-liter gasoline "six" remains available, producing 354 hp and 500 newton-meters. With this engine, the coupe accelerates to "hundred" in 4.7 seconds.
