In Zuffenhausen, they are considering the possibility of creating a sports coupe that will be powered exclusively by electricity, rather than a traditional internal combustion engine. According to Auto Express, as reported by Porsche's Deputy Chairman of the Executive Board, Lutz Meschke, equipping the legendary 911 model with an electric powertrain would be too bold a step, while the younger 718 family looks like a much more suitable candidate for such a solution.

Meschke noted that this idea is already under discussion with the company's engineers, and potential technical schemes for the future car are also being worked out. "For the 718 model, this would be an excellent direction of development. The project could be based on a completely new platform, which we could later offer to other brands as well," explained the management representative. However, the final decision on transitioning the coupe to electric traction has not yet been approved.
