Karim Habib will become the head of Kia's design center located in Namyang (South Korea) as early as October this year. The company expects him to help determine further directions for design development and the strategy of the Korean brand. In his new position, he will interact with Luc Donckerwolke, who heads the Hyundai-Kia design department.
"Kia is a brand that is actively growing and striving to introduce innovations in the field of electrification and mobility. I am glad to have the opportunity to join these changes and contribute to strengthening the brand's position in the market. I am especially interested in working together with Luc Donckerwolke, whose work I have admired for a long time," shared Karim Habib.
Recall that Habib joined Infiniti in the summer of 2017, replacing Alfonso Albaisa, who took the post of senior vice president of global design at Nissan. Previously, Habib worked at BMW.
"Karim Habib is a talented and experienced specialist, and we value his professional qualities. He joins us at an important moment when it is necessary to shape the future image of the brand and support the young design team, already noted with a number of prestigious international awards," noted Luc Donckerwolke.
