According to unconfirmed data, the new model could become noticeably more powerful and acquire an aerodynamic body kit based on the racing version of the NSX GT3, but adapted for regular roads.

Forbes magazine suggests that the total output of the Sport Hybrid SH-AWD hybrid system will increase from the current 581 horsepower and 644 Nm of torque to 659 horsepower. The powertrain includes a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 engine and three electric motors. For the Type R modification, they will likely be refined or control algorithms will be changed.

It is also expected that the NSX Type R will get a stiffer suspension and aerodynamic components that have already proven their effectiveness on the track-focused NSX GT3.
