An SUV with this name was produced from 1993 to 2002 and was a modified version of the Isuzu Rodeo. The public debut of the new car is scheduled for November 28 at the Los Angeles Auto Show. Assembly of the crossover will be organized at the brand's plant located in the US state of Alabama.

In the company's lineup, the new model will be positioned between the CR-V and Pilot. The Passport will compete with the Ford Edge and Nissan Murano. The design will be based on the Pilot's platform, but the new car will be about 150 mm shorter than its base sibling.

According to unconfirmed reports, a naturally aspirated 3.5-liter V6 gasoline engine will be installed under the hood. Its output will reach 284 horsepower and 354 Nm of torque. The engine will be paired with either a six-speed or nine-speed automatic transmission. The crossover will also feature an all-wheel drive system.
