The car's engine lineup will include one diesel and three petrol engines. The power of the units will range from 90 to 150 hp.

Petrol units with a displacement of 1.0 and 1.5 liters will work in conjunction with a five-speed gearbox and a six-speed manual. Optionally, customers will be offered a 7-speed robotic gearbox with dual clutch. For the 1.6-liter diesel engine, a six-speed manual or a robot is provided.

The car will be built on the A0 MQB platform. This chassis already underlies a number of compact and mid-size cars from the new Volkswagen Polo to the Skoda Kodiaq crossover. The length of the car will be 4,362 mm, and the width - 1,793 mm. The wheelbase size is 2,649 mm.

Externally, the new product will be made in the style of the Vision RS presented at the Paris Motor Show. The trunk volume will be 467 liters. With the rear seats folded, this figure will increase to 1,410 liters.

The hatchback can be equipped with a fully digital instrument panel Virtual Cockpit, as well as a multimedia system with support for MirrorLink, Apple CarPlay and a 9.2-inch screen. The software will be updated "over the air" - via a cloud service. Also, the new product will receive digital keys - the driver will be able to open the car using a smartphone.

Skoda promises to present the five-door Scala hatchback in the first half of next year. In the Skoda model range, the car will replace the Rapid. The public debut of the new product will take place at the Geneva Motor Show in March. Prices for the car will be announced later.
