Company representatives noted that the Patriot passed serious tests, since "one kilometer in such conditions is roughly equivalent to a hundred kilometers in normal operation."
The presentation of the updated UAZ Patriot took place on September 20. The SUV was equipped with a refined 2.7-liter gasoline engine, which had an increased compression ratio and adjusted valve timing. Also, a stronger cylinder head, a double-row chain, and new pistons, valves, and camshafts were used in the engine.
The unit's power now reaches 150 hp, and torque — 235 Nm, which exceeds the previous engine's figures by 15 hp and 18 Nm, respectively. Peak thrust is achieved at 2650 rpm instead of the previous 3900 rpm. In addition, specialists from the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant refined the five-speed manual transmission, clutch, steering mechanism, and chassis.
