The Suzuki Ciaz has been equipped with a 1.5-liter gasoline unit, which replaced the 1.4-liter engine. The motor, developing 105 hp and 138 Nm of torque, operates on a "mild hybrid" scheme.

It works in conjunction with a compact lithium-ion battery, a start-stop system, and a kinetic energy recovery function during braking. Transmissions are a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic. In addition, the Ciaz is available with the previous diesel engine, producing 90 hp and 200 Nm.
As for cosmetic changes, the sedan received different chrome air intakes, new headlights with LED daytime running lights, rear lights with LED elements, and new 16-inch alloy wheels.

Inside, new decorative inserts appeared, as well as a 4.2-inch LCD display that shows current information. The standard equipment of the car includes ABS and an electronic brake-force distribution system, while top versions are available with a stability control system and hill-start assist.
