The special version is timed to the thirtieth anniversary of the STI division — the car has become lighter and more powerful than the standard model. Instead of the 2.5-liter boxer engine, the all-wheel-drive car received a two-liter turbo engine producing 329 horsepower and a six-speed manual transmission. Thus, this is the most powerful production STI.
The curb weight of the new product compared to the base Subaru WRX STI sedan has decreased by ten kilograms and amounts to 1480 kilograms.
In addition, the special version has acquired a new sport exhaust system, springs and shock absorbers developed specifically for this modification, as well as six-piston Brembo brakes with 457-millimeter discs (two-piston on the rear axle).
Another detail is Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires with different rubber compound compositions on the outer and inner parts of the tread. According to the manufacturer, such tires provide equally confident grip on both dry and wet asphalt.
This version is intended exclusively for the Japanese market. Order acceptance will last until December 17 of the current year.
