The testing of the new model was carried out on French roads. Based on the video materials, the appearance of the next-generation Clio will be made in the spirit of the Renault Symbioz concept car.
From the current version, the car will be distinguished by a new radiator grille, LED optics in the shape of the letter C, as well as a redesigned hood. Significant changes should also be expected inside the car. Probably, the external dimensions of the hatchback will remain unchanged.
The new model will be based on the modernized CMF-B platform, known from the Nissan Micra. Under the hood, a fresh gasoline turbo engine with a volume of 1.3 liters, producing about 150 horsepower, will appear. According to unofficial information, acceleration to the first hundred with such an engine will fit into eight seconds.
Buyers will also have access to a 1.0-liter gasoline unit, the characteristics of which are still kept secret. In addition, the lineup will retain a 1.5-liter diesel, which will undergo serious refinement.
Paired with the engines, a six-speed manual gearbox will work, and for an additional charge, a robotic gearbox with two clutches will be offered.
According to unofficial information, the official debut of the car is scheduled for the Paris Motor Show in September this year, and the start of sales in Europe is planned for the beginning of next year. The main rivals of the hatchback will be the Ford Fiesta and Volkswagen Polo.
