The Ascent is built on the SGP platform, which also underpins the new generations of the Impreza and XV models. The show car stretches to a full 5.2 meters in length, making it the largest vehicle in the brand's history.

Through the many futuristic design elements, one can already discern the overall style of the future production model. Even in the bright interior, some quite "down-to-earth" details are visible.

Apparently, the Ascent is intended to take the flagship position of the discontinued Tribeca model. Production of the crossover will be set up at Subaru's American plant in Lafayette, Indiana, but the model will not appear in dealerships until next year.
