As promised earlier, the fresh Rexton repeats the styling of the LIV-2 concept car, but its appearance has become more practical and less futuristic. At the same time, there is almost no resemblance to the previous generation model. A full inspection of the new model from all angles is not yet possible — the company has only released a couple of body shots.
The interior has also been completely redesigned. The 9-inch multimedia display immediately catches the eye, along with two-tone combined leather upholstery and neat LED lighting running along the contour of the interior space.
The vehicle's dimensions have changed: length is now 4850 mm (an increase of 95 mm), width is 1920 mm (plus 20 mm), and height has decreased to 1800 mm (minus 40 mm). The wheelbase, on the contrary, has been reduced by 29 mm and now stands at 2864 mm.
It is expected that under the hood of the SUV there will be a 2.0-liter turbocharged gasoline engine with 225 hp, as well as a 2.2-liter diesel engine with 181 hp. For the most expensive trims, a 7-speed automatic transmission from Mercedes is provided.
The start of global sales of the new SsangYong Rexton is scheduled closer to autumn.
