For the "hot" version of the Fiesta, a new three-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine has been prepared. With a displacement of 1.5 liters, it develops 200 horsepower and 290 newton-meters of torque. To reduce fuel consumption, a function is provided to deactivate one of the cylinders when the load on the engine is minimal. The unit works exclusively with a six-speed manual gearbox.

The new generation Ford Fiesta ST reaches 100 km/h in 6.7 seconds, which is two tenths faster than the previous model.

For the first time in the model's history, the driver will be able to choose one of the preset driving modes — Normal, Sport, or Track. Changing the mode affects the accelerator pedal response, steering settings, and the algorithms of the stability control system, as well as the sound of the engine.

Sales of the new model are expected to start no earlier than next year.
