AvtoVAZ company plans to release a new generation of the compact SUV Lada 4x4, better known as the Niva.
The next generation of the model will become larger, will again get a five-door version, and will not lose its off-road qualities. Work on the new Niva will be carried out jointly with the Renault-Nissan alliance.
Currently, a suitable platform is being selected for the future SUV among the models of the Franco-Japanese partner. Which specific cars may become "donors" remains a mystery for now.
The premiere of the new generation Lada 4x4 is expected no earlier than mid-2018.
