There were no revolutionary changes in the appearance of the new generation Countryman, but the model moved to the new UKL2 platform and increased in size. The car became 20 cm longer and 3 cm wider. The wheelbase received an additional 7.5 cm.

The first hybrid "Mini" in history was named Countryman Cooper S E Countryman ALL4. The power plant consists of a 1.5-liter engine and an electric motor with a total power of 224 hp. 385 Nm of torque. A similar hybrid system is already used on the BMW 225xe Active Tourer.

Exclusively on electric traction, the "green" will be able to travel 41 km, and charging the batteries will take about three hours. The maximum speed in fully electric mode is 125 km/h. The average fuel consumption in combined mode is 2.1 liters per 100 km.

Also in the line of power units of the new "Countryman" there will be a two-liter turbo engine with a power of 192 hp for the Cooper S version and a base 136-horsepower engine with a volume of 1.5 liters. In addition, two two-liter diesel engines with a power of 150 and 190 hp will be available. As a transmission, a six-speed "mechanics" or two "automatic" transmissions with 6 or 8 speeds are offered.
The premiere of the crossover will take place next month at the Los Angeles Auto Show.
