Darryl Scriven, the design manager of the project, told Autocar about this. According to him, the concept was initially designed so that its production version could be released later. The company is currently working on replacing expensive elements made specifically for the prototype with cheaper analogues. The main task for engineers will be to widen the track by 20 millimeters and install enlarged wheel arches, which gave the "premium" concept an aggressive look.
For the production version, Nissan will replace the real carbon fiber elements with plastic ones with a "carbon-look" pattern, and the body and wheel rims will get a simpler paint finish. On the prototype, the body was painted in a special matte black color, and the 20-inch rims had a "gold" coating. It was covered with a second, black layer of paint. The black layer, in turn, was very carefully polished to within thousandths of a millimeter so that the "gold" layer would show through it.

In addition, the production version of the Nissan Qashqai Premium will have to replace the seats upholstered in Nappa leather with simpler ones. However, the interior concept — light seat upholstery combined with dark inserts — will be retained. The exterior elements — special headlights, taillights, and bumpers — will also remain.
Presumably, the production "premium" Qashqai will be called Qashqai+. The car's release is planned for 2017 or 2018. Competitors of the new model will include models such as the Audi Q3 and BMW X1.
