Chevrolet Captiva of the latest generation has undergone a number of updates in exterior design, received a new palette of color solutions, as well as a number of new design solutions in the interior, which allowed the well-known model to appear in a new light that meets modern trends. The model has become even richer in terms of equipment, receiving LED daytime running lights, keyless entry, blind spot monitoring system, and much more. The technical component of the new Chevrolet Captiva has also been revised, which will certainly be appreciated by Ukrainian customers.
The design of the steering wheel has changed, now it has become three-spoke, and the multimedia control buttons on it are located more ergonomically. Also, the new generation of the crossover is offered with a completely redesigned instrument panel, headed by the MyLink 2016 multimedia system with a 7” touchscreen display. Special attention deserves the keyless entry function available in the new Chevrolet Captiva and the ability to take on board 7 people. At the same time, the rows of seats have a “theatrical” seating, in which the seats of the second and third rows are installed with a slight elevation above the level of the previous row. The value of such an important parameter as the trunk volume is 769 liters of useful volume with the third row of seats folded and increases to 1577 liters if the second and third rows are folded.
According to the distributor, at the moment the Captiva has the richest initial configuration compared to its classmates. At an initial price of UAH 694,710, the Chevrolet Captiva with a 2.4-liter gasoline engine with 167 hp and a six-speed manual gearbox will offer the already mentioned active and passive safety systems, as well as electronic dual-zone climate control, cruise control, full electric package, folding rear-view mirrors with heating and turn signal repeaters, light and rain sensors, steering column adjustable by height and reach, heated front seats, fog lights, alloy “seventeen” wheels and much more. The same set of equipment is also available for those who wish to choose a modification with a diesel engine.
Such a power unit with a volume of 2.2 liters, thanks to the presence of a turbine, develops a power of 184 hp, and the torque reaches its maximum of 400 Nm already at 3800 rpm. The cost of a Chevrolet Captiva equipped with a turbodiesel and a six-speed manual gearbox is UAH 811,740. For lovers of comfortable movement who prefer to shift the responsibility for gear shifting to electronics, the same engine options are available, both gasoline and turbodiesel, which work in pair with a 6-speed “automatic”. The cost of such modifications is UAH 764,430 and UAH 836,640, respectively.
Chevrolet Cruze of the 2016 model year received a number of updates in exterior design, new body colors became available, and under the hood now as the main one will be available a turbocharged gasoline engine with a volume of 1.4 liters, with a power of 140 hp and a torque of 200 Nm, which will work in pair with a six-speed “manual” or “automatic”. In addition, the initial LS configuration offers additional options such as 6 airbags, electronic stability control (ESP), tire pressure monitoring system and many others. Changes also occurred in the optics: the lenses in the headlights were improved.
In the interior, the designers preserved the main family features of the model, whichever body you choose – sedan, hatchback or station wagon – the concept of “flowing lines” and the signature double cockpit will not leave anyone indifferent who has heard knows about the Corvette model. On the instrument panel, the “first fiddle” is played by the MyLink multimedia system. This system allows you to combine the capabilities of the car’s audio system with a smartphone.
In the technical part, the main change was the appearance of a new power unit developed by GM for a wide range of Chevrolet and Opel brand models. This is a turbocharged gasoline engine of the ECOTEC family with a volume of 1.4 liters. Thanks to the turbine, the engine offers 140 hp and a torque of 200 Nm. According to the manufacturer, fuel consumption in the combined cycle is 5.7 liters for the “manual” and 6.3 liters per 100 kilometers for the “automatic”. Thus, the tank volume allows you to travel about 1000 kilometers on one fill-up.
Already in the “base” there are the above-mentioned safety systems, standard alarm, cruise control, rear parking sensors, steering wheel adjustable by height and reach, front and rear electric windows, electrically adjustable mirrors with heating, on-board computer, leather steering wheel with multimedia control, 6 speakers, athermal windshield and front seats adjustable by height. All this is available at a price of UAH 418,320, if we talk about the LT configuration for the station wagon body with a five-speed gearbox and a 1.6 DOHC engine with 117 hp. As for the price of the sedan in the same level of equipment, the cost of the car in the LT configuration starts from UAH 443,220, with the same engine and gearbox as the station wagon. If the choice is in favor of the hatchback, then its cost in the LT configuration is UAH 425,790.
