The restyling affected several versions of the A4 at once: the classic sedan and station wagon, the sporty S4 and the "all-road" A4 Allroad Quattro.

Radical changes in design were not to be expected — Audi does not spoil the public with bold stylistic solutions. Nevertheless, the update is noticeable: the optics have changed, the radiator grille is made in a new style, and the bumpers have also become different.

Inside, there have also been changes, although without revolutions. A new steering wheel, fresh trim materials and a redesigned front console — all this will surely be appreciated by future owners. In addition, engineers worked on the engines: fuel consumption decreased by an average of 11%, while many units became more powerful and torquier.

For example, the base 1.8-liter gasoline engine now develops 170 hp and 320 N∙m instead of the previous 120 or 160 hp. The 2.0-liter diesel engine is available in three power options: 136, 163 or 177 hp. Moreover, the most modest 136-horsepower version is the most economical in the entire A4 family: it is content with only 4.2 liters of fuel per 100 km. The flagship became a three-liter engine with a capacity of 272 hp (previously a 3.2-liter unit with 265 hp was used). The S4 remained true to itself — under its hood there are still 333 hp.
