The head of the Catholic Church was not in the habit of riding a motorcycle, but a signature of the pontiff appeared on its fuel tank. Such an unusual gift was presented by Harley Davidson on the occasion of its 110th anniversary in the summer of 2013.
Moreover, there were two motorcycles. A biker jacket was included with them, which also went to auction for 60 thousand euros. Where the second motorcycle ended up is not yet reported.
The Vatican emphasized that all proceeds from the sale will be directed to charitable purposes. At the same time, anyone can purchase a similar model of motorcycle like the Pope's — in the USA it costs about 15 thousand dollars.
