New centers will replace the old MREO of the State Automobile Inspectorate, and their functions will expand: among other things, they will handle issues related to weapons, including their transportation and processing of the necessary documents.
Services are planned to be provided in two variants — standard and expedited, with the latter costing more. Maximum timeframes for completing procedures have also been set. Driver's licenses must be issued within no more than five days, and vehicle registration should take no more than one day. However, tariffs for the Ministry of Internal Affairs services have not yet been approved.
Some details remain unclear. In particular, the draft law mentions that the centers will be able to organize driving test exams, but it does not specify who exactly will administer these exams.
In addition, every citizen will be able to obtain any information they are interested in.
Another unusual option appears — applying a VIN code to a vehicle, as well as manufacturing and attaching a sticker with an identification number and assigning a registration number to the vehicle. If we reason logically, this effectively legalizes cars without license plates and with destroyed body markings.
Another innovation is the ability to order not only standard license plates but also individual plates, as well as special numbers for testing cars with the "Test" mark.
