The bill, numbered 317-VII, was introduced by Valentyn Nychyporenko, a deputy from the Party of Regions. 314 parliamentarians out of 403 present in the session hall voted for its adoption.
Now, holders of driver's licenses issued during the Soviet period can exchange them for new-style documents — both at their own request and in situations stipulated by law.
It is worth noting that to replace licenses issued during the USSR era, even an exam card is not required.
