The text of the draft law contains the following provision: driving vehicles or vessels by persons who are in a state of alcohol intoxication or under the influence of narcotic or psychotropic substances, punishable by a fine of two hundred to five hundred tax-free minimum incomes of citizens (from 3,400 to 8,500 UAH) or correctional labor for up to two years, or arrest for up to six months, or imprisonment for up to three years, with deprivation of the right to drive a vehicle for a period of two to five years.
In addition, the draft law states that in case of a repeated offense of a similar nature — imprisonment for up to three years with lifelong deprivation of the right to drive a vehicle. And if a law enforcement officer is behind the wheel of a car — punishable by imprisonment for up to five years with lifelong deprivation of the right to drive a vehicle.
Alcohol intoxication will be considered a state in which a person who has undergone an examination using technical means, the indicators of which after the test in the exhaled air record more than 0.6 ppm of alcohol in the blood.
