Today, the deputy head of the State Automobile Inspectorate Department, Vasyl Rublyuk, announced the agency's plans. First of all, we are talking about increasing fines for traffic violations that could have serious consequences — for example, for crossing railway crossings with violations or driving under the influence of alcohol.

In addition, there is a need to bring domestic traffic rules in line with European standards. The introduction of differentiated penalties for speeding is planned — depending on how much the driver exceeded the limit (10, 20, 40 km/h). The possibility of establishing different levels of responsibility for different categories of drivers is also being considered: for the same violation, a car driver will bear one responsibility, and a truck or bus driver — another.

Regarding the return of the special unit "Cobra" to the roads, Vasyl Rublyuk explained that it returned to work on problematic regions. The officers of this unit will primarily focus on detecting smuggling, drugs, and other similar offenses.
