Anatoliy Hrytsenko stated that the mandatory state technical inspection of private cars does not affect road safety in any way. According to the politician's press service, in Lviv, on the square in front of the regional department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine, supporters of "Civil Position" organized an action called "Cancel the technical inspection - cancel the extortions!". The event was intended to demonstrate the meaninglessness of mandatory passing of this procedure.
The day before, representatives of "Civil Position" together with journalists from the publication "Informator" decided to check how realistic it is to pass the technical inspection. For the experiment, they took a "ZAZ-968" car from 1985 with license plate M4832OH. The engine was previously removed from the car. In addition, the "Zaporozhets" had a non-working handbrake, damaged headlights, flat tires, and a number of other malfunctions. However, according to the press service, this was not an obstacle - the technical inspection certificate was issued without any difficulties.
On the day of the action, this very car, in the presence of journalists and the public, was donated to the Lviv State Automobile Inspectorate. Hrytsenko once again emphasized that technical inspection for private car owners is a complete farce that has nothing to do with safety. In his opinion, this procedure is just a legalized way of extortion and deception.
The politician also noted that about 10 thousand traffic police officers create problems for more than 9 million drivers. He added that on domestic roads, you can damage the chassis at the very first intersection, and the certificate will still hang on the windshield. According to Hrytsenko, such a piece of paper is not a guarantee of anything.
