The new Chinese Hongqi H7 has set a Guinness record among production plug-in hybrid sedans for the longest distance traveled without refueling or recharging. With a full tank and a charged battery, the car covered 2916.171 km. This is reported by Autohome.

During the run, the Hongqi H7 was not refueled and was not connected to a charging station. The result of 2916.171 km was recorded by Guinness World Records representatives, and not determined by the onboard computer readings.
The plug-in hybrid is equipped with a 1.5-liter turbo engine with a capacity of 110 kW. The declared thermal efficiency of the engine is 45.21%, and gasoline with an octane rating of 92 is allowed for refueling.
The transmission uses a single-stage DHT. When driving at high speed, the gasoline engine can directly drive the wheels. For front-wheel-drive versions, the declared fuel consumption with a discharged battery is 4.4 l/100 km under the WLTC cycle, for all-wheel drive - 5.3 l/100 km.
The range of the Hongqi H7 in production versions reaches 1954 km
