Usyk is known not only for his sporting achievements but also for his love of cars. Autoportal decided to recall which cars the celebrated boxer has driven and continues to drive.

Cars in the life of Oleksandr Usyk

Usyk first got behind the wheel at a young age — it was his father's Moskvich-412, on which he learned the basics of driving. The athlete's first own car was a Skoda Octavia A5, adorned with a portrait of Muhammad Ali.

In 2013, in Simferopol, the Skoda was involved in an accident — another car collided with it. Nevertheless, the boxer did not want to part with his beloved Octavia. In a 2016 interview with Autoportal, Oleksandr said he still drove it. But five years have passed since then, so it's hard to say now whether this Czech liftback remains in the champion's garage.

At a certain period, Usyk also owned a Kia Sorento crossover, but two weeks later, the boxer's wife crashed it. And in 2012, for Ukraine's Olympic gold, the Boxing Federation gifted the athlete a Volvo XC90.

After the Volvo, Usyk switched to a Toyota Land Cruiser 200 SUV, which truly won him over.

"I really like my Toyota Land Cruiser 200, I can't imagine anything better. Although I've tried much more expensive cars, like a Bentley, I still almost always drive the Cruiser. It seems I've found my car," Oleksandr shared with us.

Next, no less impressive cars appeared in Usyk's garage — a Lexus LX, bought in 2018, a Mercedes-Benz GLS... And the boxer's most recent purchase was a performance crossover Audi RS Q8, bought in the summer of 2020.

Notably, despite his status, Usyk not only drives himself but also personally takes care of his cars.

"...I really like cars, I'm, so to speak, 'into' them. I love to take care of my car myself, if I have time, I even have a special little vacuum cleaner..." says Oleksandr.

Oleksandr Usyk behind the wheel of a Tesla

As part of an interview, Autoportal, together with Oleksandr Usyk, conducted a test of the electric crossover Tesla Model X P90D Ludicrous. Today, such a car is familiar to everyone, but five years ago it seemed something unreal. And the famous boxer was impressed. Usyk praised the incredible dynamics (acceleration to 100 km/h in 3.2 seconds), smart systems (almost full autopilot), and a range of 416 km. However, there were also criticisms — he didn't like the build quality of the interior and the fact that it's hard to go on a trip around Ukraine in such a car.
