According to Autocar, production of the Alhambra will end in late March, after which the model's history, which began in 1995, will come to an end. Production of the similar Volkswagen vehicle will continue for some time, but it is not eternal either: sales of this car will last only until the end of 2020.

In the future, Seat plans to focus on the production of electric vehicles, including the plug-in hybrid Leon and the hybrid version of the Cupra Formentor.

The Alhambra minivan underwent a generation update in 2010, and then was modernized in 2015 and 2018. Rumors that the model would disappear from the Seat lineup and the company would stop producing cars of this type appeared back in 2016.
