The convertible became the first in the limited "welcome" Inspiration line, which consisted of one hundred cars. The example sold at auction is painted in a bright blue shade Structural Blue, and the trim also features carbon fiber sill plates with the inscription LC Inspiration Series Launch Exclusive 1 of 1.
The open LC 500 is equipped with a naturally aspirated five-liter V8 with 477 horsepower (540 Nm). The engine is paired with a ten-speed automatic transmission that sends torque to the rear wheels.

The LC 500 model became the first car in the premium brand's lineup to feature a soft folding roof. It automatically lowered and raised in 15 seconds at speeds up to 50 kilometers per hour.
Along with the car, the new owner, who wished to remain anonymous, received several iconic accessories. Among them are a framed sketch of the convertible, a certificate personally signed by engineers and the director of the Lexus plant, a portfolio with photos from the assembly line, as well as a certificate for driving lessons at the Lexus laboratory and a certificate for three nights at the Pebble Beach hotel.
All the money that the auction house raised from the sale of the exclusive sports car will be directed to charity funds helping American children and veterans.
