Experts have determined: despite a number of refinements, the manufacturer failed to eliminate the flaw that was also inherent in the previous version of the model — namely, insufficient driver protection.

The problem manifests itself in a partial overlap impact. In such a situation, the front of the car deforms in a way that creates a noticeable risk of injury to the left leg of the person behind the wheel. As for the other occupants in the cabin, their safety is ensured at a fairly high level. In other words, in such an accident, it is the driver who is exposed to the greatest risk.

Because of this, the crossover could not receive the maximum rating, although in other tests — frontal and side collisions — it performed successfully.
