Behind the wheel of a Hyundai Nexo without refueling, Bertrand covered a distance of 778 kilometers. The remaining range was 49 kilometers.

On November 25, Piccard set off from the FaHyence hydrogen filling station in Sarreguemines, France. The next day he finished near the Museum of Aviation and Cosmonautics in the Paris suburb of Le Bourget. "With this achievement, we have shown that clean technologies no longer need experimental prototypes to set records," commented Piccard. "A new era of high performance focused on environmental protection is beginning."

During the journey, several famous people joined Piccard. Prince Albert II of Monaco, French Minister of Economy and Finance Bruno Le Maire, Grand Duke Henri of Luxembourg, and President of the group for researching hydrogen prospects Michel Delpon all had the chance to sit in the passenger seat of the Nexo.

The Hyundai Nexo's traction electric motor develops 163 horsepower and 394 Nm of torque. The tanks hold 6.35 kilograms of hydrogen. Both fuel cells and a traction battery serve as the source of current.

Since the Nexo emits no harmful substances, 111.2 kilograms of carbon dioxide were saved during the run. That is how much a car of the same category equipped with a conventional internal combustion engine emits on average.
