Behind the wheel of the supercar was an experienced Pikes Peak racer, New Zealander Rhys Millen. The driver covered the 19.99 km course, where the elevation change reaches almost 1,500 meters, in 10 minutes 18 seconds.
To start at Pikes Peak, a production car only needs minimal modifications. The standard Bentley Continental GT is equipped with a six-liter twin-turbocharged W12 engine that produces 635 hp and 900 N·m of torque.
The engine works in conjunction with an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox, which was created based on Porsche's PDK unit. The sprint from standstill to 96 km/h takes the coupe 3.6 seconds, and the top speed reaches 333 km/h.
