Rita Forst, Vice President of the Opel/Vauxhall design division, was honored during an official ceremony held at the Paris Motor Show. The Opel Eye system, located in the space between the windshield and the interior rearview mirror, performs two tasks. The first is to alert the driver via an audible signal and a flashing light indicator on the instrument panel about unintentional lane departure, helping to avoid hazardous situations such as, for example, falling asleep at the wheel (Lane Departure Warning). The second is the recognition of traffic signs with the subsequent display of the corresponding symbol in the central part of the instrument panel (Traffic Sign Recognition).
Opel Eye is available as an option for all trim levels of the Insignia and Astra models, as well as for the Astra Sports Tourer, whose world premiere took place in Paris.
