This innovation forced drivers to obtain powers of attorney, which led to unnecessary expenses. As reported by the Ukrainian Association of Driving Schools, after appealing to the Head of the Department of the State Automobile Inspection, Lozovyi, a decision was made to return to the previous practice — to include relatives in the vehicle registration certificate. Currently, the preparation of the Instruction on vehicle registration is underway, which still needs to be registered with the Ministry of Justice. However, the Department has already sent an official telegram to the MREO of the State Automobile Inspection of Ukraine under number 418-5027, which details the new procedure.
"Ensure, at the owner's request and with their written application, the inclusion in the vehicle registration certificate of the right to drive the vehicle for their close relatives (parents, children, brothers, sisters, grandfathers, grandmothers, grandchildren, father-in-law, mother-in-law, father-in-law, mother-in-law, adoptive parents, adopted children) of no more than two relatives."
Therefore, those who want to include relatives in the vehicle registration certificate and avoid obtaining powers of attorney for driving can contact the State Automobile Inspection with a corresponding application.
MREO again started entering relatives into the vehicle registration certificate
As previously reported, MREOs have stopped entering relatives who have the right to drive a vehicle into the vehicle registration certificate.
