Yes, as told by the chairman of the board of ZAZ, Nikolai Yevdokimenko, we are talking about a 9-meter suburban bus called A09. The vehicle has already passed certification for the Ukrainian market, and is currently undergoing road tests designed for 50,000 km of mileage. However, there is more to come. ZAZ wants to pass the Mercedes-Benz audit so that the A09 bus can be produced under the Mercedes brand and thus be sold not only in Ukraine but also in European countries, as well as Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

New ZAZ bus on Mercedes-Benz units

At the moment, it is known that the ZAZ A09 bus will have 36 seats. The vehicle will receive a 3.9-liter Mercedes-Benz 4D34i diesel engine of Euro-5 standard. It is also known what the bus will look like – it can be seen in the photo (above), taken during the plant's reporting presentation to the media.

At the Zaporozhye Automobile Plant, it was emphasized that in the first quarter of this year they produced, in particular, 25 low-floor buses for the Polish city of Elblag (the cost of one such unit of equipment is about 75 thousand euros). In total, about 100 ZAZ buses are currently driving on the roads of Poland.

Finally, the management reported that by the end of the year the enterprise intends to produce 160 buses, of which 75 are school buses. At the same time, since the beginning of the year, ZAZ has built 60 buses.

As for passenger cars, let us remind you that since January 2021, ZAZ has assembled over 2,000 cars of the Lada, Renault and Kia brands.
